*I slowly lead Dale home, holding his hand and keeping him close. The rain began to drench my hoodie and parts of my fur, but it didn’t bother me. Looking over at Dale, his fur looked like it was wet like a sponge. I could see him shivering as cold wind began to breeze over us. We soon arrived him and I opened the door, helping Dale inside. I quickly grabbed us both towel and put one around Dale, drying him off a little as the warmth of the house could be felt on me. I took off my hoodie, shoes, basically everything since it was wet and threw my clothes in the dryer. I was basically naked, but I didn’t care. I never wore any pants or underwear so I didn’t feel different, nor did I expect Dale to react differently after all. His shirt felt wet too.*
“Would you like me to put your shirt in the dryer?”
*I rubbed his back a little, looking into his eyes.*
The towel blanketing him was wicking away the damp in his fur, it’s coverage had put a stop to his shivering, or much of it. Dale held out the shirt he was holding in his hand, trying not to hold it too tight so that it didn’t dampen the floor. Taking a bit to let it go from his chilled fingers, he bestowed it to Sonic. His joints were rigid and it was difficult to move, it was horrid being chilled to the bone. Dale started to stagger over towards the couch, seeking to support himself on the armrest. It was inconvenient but now that the reality of it was setting in he got gravely quiet, and numb to whatever pain that came to him from his soaking. All the agony was working inside him, he started to internalize everything that had happened.
*I quickly threw his shirt with my clothes and ran the dryer. Looking over at Dale, it was heart breaking… He seemed so depressed, so hurt… I could feel a pain in my heart for him… Sadness… I knew that feeling all too well… I ran over and grabbed a very warm and cozy blanket, going back over to him and wrapped it gently around him, helping him lay on the couch comfortably.*
“Would you like anything to eat or drink Dale? Maybe it’ll help warm you up?”
*The house wasn’t as warm as it could be… Which had me a little more worried for him.*
